Amendments
1. Boat Classes
a. There will be four boat classes with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards for each class. Each class winner also receives a coveted cup trophy which he/her will bring back the following year to defend. The four classes are as follows:
11:00 am Race--- Big Boat (Mono-Hull), 11:05 Small Boat (Sunfish type, Lateen Rigged Only)
4:00 pm Race---Revenge Cup (Sunfish type Lateen Rig Only), Multi-Hull Class
Lateen Rig

This GLEN-L BUCKBOARD uses a simple LATEEN RIG. The sail has a sewn-n sock along the luff at the clew to attach it to the tubular aluminum spars. No battens are used in the sail. This mast is also free-standing.
b. In order to be eligible to win the Nocona Cup, mono-hull multi-sail boats (Big Boats) must have at least two persons on board for safety reasons.
2. Starting Point
a. The Lake Nocona Sailboat Regatta will start in the middle of the lake in front of The Boathouse.
3. Race Course
a. The race course will be chosen from three basic courses pictured below. These courses are general and are subject to change race day. The RC will do everything it can to insure the race courses start into the wind and finish into the wind.

b. The race course will be selected and set Saturday morning before the race at 11 am.
c. It will be determined by wind direction and will basically run on a line in which the whole race will be visible from The Boathouse.
d. The 4:00 pm race Revenge Cup and Multi Hull Race will use the windward leeward part of the course only.
e. The length of the 11:00 am Big Boat race will be approximately two hours for the 1st place boat. Laps will be adjusted before the race starts to get close to this time.
f. The 11:05 am Small Boat race course will be the same as the Big Boat but 1 lap less.
g. The length of the 4:00 pm Revenge Cup and Multi Hull Race will be approximately 1 hour for the 1st place boat. Laps will be adjusted before the race starts.
h. All boats will be required to pass through the start/finish gates on each lap. This is being requested by the judges to more accurately count laps and keep up with boats.
5. Right-Of-Way Rules:
a. The lake Nocona sailboat Regatta has only one right of way rule at this time. The RC reserves the right to add rules over time. Starboard tack has the "right of way" over port tack.
6. Bumping buoys while rounding: The standard rule of the LNYC is if any participate bumps the buoys while rounding or going through the start gates, the guilty boat must go around the buoy again. It has been noted that while performing this maneuver the guilty boat has caused distress to other boats properly on course rounding the buoy. Let it be said that the boat rounding the buoy again under above penalty must give right of way to any boat properly rounding buoy at all times.
8. Appeals:
a. As with all competitive sports there are a few people that are never satisfied with the outcome, no matter how fair things are, they WILL complain. The RC has a stop gap in place to accommodate these people. The system has been tried and tested locally by a non-affiliated organization.
b. First, the complaint must be lodged with the RC within 30 minutes after the finish of the race with a crisp $50 bill.
c. The RC will return an oral ruling immediately.
d. To appeal the ruling of the RC, the complainer should appeal the ruling in writing to the Appeals Committee with a crisp $100 bill. (Note: The Appeals Committee is composed of the members of the RC)
e. Should the ruling of the Appeals committee not satisfy the complainers......then tough.
9. Sabotage:
a. These cowardly acts will not be tolerated!b. Anyone caught and proven guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt will be disqualified.
